Greens name candidate for Hunter

23 Jul, 2010 11:34 AM
Greens candidate for Parker Chris Hunter will be focussing on the environment and the people.

Mr Parker is from Buchanan and has always been interested in environmental issues.

Until he was 27, he lived and worked on the family vegetable farm, and has since become a certified organic farmer. Mr Parker decided to stand for the seat of Hunter when he realised the damage the mining industry was doing to the land.

Mr Parker said election issues included trains in Scone, dust fall, mining effects on the environment and lack of care for citizens.

Mr Parker will also campaign for the use of solar and renewable energy.

Mr Parker has said he would try to visit the Kandos and Rylstone region to speak to all the people there.

“But if I can’t he will be trying to get another member from the party to the area,” he said.
