For the past 25 years, the red, white and blue of Richardson & Wrench has been a familiar landmark of the Mudgee CBD, but that’s about to change.
From Monday (June 15) the real estate firm will become part of the Professionals group and Richardson & Wrench Mudgee will be no more.
Sales manager, Adam Woods said the decision to go with the Professionals reflected the changing times of the business. As the Professionals it will be the same trusted team and a great new brand.
“It’s allowed us to refocus where we’re going and be able to keep up with the changing demands in the marketplace.
“We still have the same values, but it allows you to freshen up your approach.”
The move to the Professionals group gives it that fresh vitality according to Mr Woods.
The group is based in Brisbane and has more than 400 offices in every state of Australia and throughout the South Pacific including Indonesia and New Zealand where it has a strong presence.
“Under the direction of a new CEO it is now very much in the 21st century.
“The brand suits the culture we want to create and we will be receiving a lot of support from head office in legal, marketing and IT.
“It’s a members’ cooperative as opposed to a franchise so all the money gets reinvested into the group,” he said.
“It encourages outlets to operate as part of a network rather than individual agents,” he said.
Clients will benefit from referrals from the group’s 400 plus offices.
Principal, Helen Woods said she saw the move more as an opportunity than a change.
“It’s about where we’re heading in the future that’s important,” she said.
The Mudgee branch of the Professionals will hold an open day on Friday June 19 between 10am and 2pm to familiarise locals with the new brand.
Principal Helen Woods shares her highlights
After 23 years in the Mudgee real estate business, Helen Woods shared her highlights.
- “In 2004 we sold a property just out of Mudgee for a record price and I think that record still holds and funnily enough the former owner of that property now runs the Harvey Bay office of the Professionals.”
- “In 2007 my daughter Chandelle received the Richardson & Wrench award for ‘Rookie of the Year’ for sales,” she said.
- Asked if there were any regrets about saying goodbye to Richardson & Wrench after 25 years, Mrs Woods said it was like moving house.
- “It’s a bit sad to be leaving the old house, but exciting about moving into the new one,” she said.
