President Harvey Tindall said the revamped organisation would work cooperatively with Mid-Western Regional Council, business advocacy groups including the Mudgee Tourism Association and Mudgee Wine and Grapegrowers Association, mining representative groups and community organisations.
“This is an exciting time for us,” he said.
“We have a new and enthusiastic committee and we are very grateful to have the support of long term MBA members including Karl Fletcher, Rob Duffy, David Spruce and Hugh Bateman who have agreed to share their knowledge based on many years of work supporting local business and community development.
We are hoping to have a membership encompassing a wide range of business interests, large and small.
Mr Tindall said the MBA committee was now working to rebuild a strong membership base and was determined to work as an accountable and transparent organisation supporting the many diverse sectors of the community.
“We are hoping to have a membership encompassing a wide range of business interests, large and small,” he said.
Mr Tindall said that the current committee members represented a variety of industry sectors, including hospitality, winery, tourism, online advertising, international marketing, transport, pharmacy and internet service provision.
The first projects in the pipeline for the MBA include information and networking event featuring guest speakers providing information on a range of topics impacting on local businesses followed by informal networking time.
