New tasting room opens at the Bridge View Inn

10 Jun, 2005 11:34 AM
Rylstone's historic sandstone Bridge View Inn will be the setting for the opening of the Tasting Room for local wines and olives this long weekend.

De Beaurepaire Wines and Lakeland Olives will join the innovative and award winning Bridge View Inn Restaurant and Bakery to compliment the offerings of fine food in the region.

The Tasting Room will be managed by Kate Honeyset, a local woman with wide experience in the wine and beverage industry.

The Tasting Room will be open at weekends and public holidays.

De Beaurepaire Wines are produced from a single vineyard, 'Beaurepaire Ridge', at Rylstone, owned by Richard and Janet Beaurepaire.

The two ranges offered are the premium ‘De Beaurepaire' (‘Amandine', Chardonnay, ‘Elyanne' Semillon, ‘Victor' Cabernet Reserve) and their ‘Captain Starlight' range, which delivers consistently good, easy drinking, fruit driven wines that are excellent value for money (Shiraz, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon).

‘Captain Starlight' was a local cattle rustler and acclaimed stockman in the Hall of Fame, Longreach.

Lakeland Olives, owned by Knut Kammann, has consistently won Best of Class trophies for their extra virgin olive oils over the past three years, as well as the 2004 National Award for their Frantoio EVOO.
