Well respected jazz drummer comes to town

05 Jul, 2009 07:54 PM
This Thursday evening, July 9, Mudgee Public School is proud to present an evening of sensational jazz from 7.30pm at Club Mudgee.

Australia’s leading jazz drummer, John Morrison, will perform with his wife, Jackie Cooper, one of Australia’s leading jazz singers.

Following the success of their workshop with Mudgee students last year, John and Jackie are in Mudgee to work with students from Mudgee Public on the Thursday and then with students from Mudgee High on the Friday.

On the Thursday John will spend the day with the Mudgee Public Concert Band, while Jackie will work with the Mudgee Public Harmony Choir.

The children have been working on a number of songs which they will come together to perform under the leadership of John and Jackie at the beginning of the evening concert.

Tickets for the concert are available from Mudgee Public School, Club Mudgee or The Property Shop at a cost of $25.

The school is bringing these world class musicians to Mudgee to not only tutor the children in the band and choir but to expose them to people who may well inspire them to one day reach for the musical stars.

This concert is an amazing opportunity for all music lovers to hear world class musicians in our own backyard.

So get along to Club Mudgee this Thursday night for an evening of entertainment you won’t want to miss.
