Round eight feature game: Division 6 Starlet Jamanda Pandas v Gems Mudgee Bearings
Jamanda Pandas started the game strongly scoring the first two goals of the game.
The younger Mudgee Bearings side composed themselves well to lead the first quarter 6-3.
After the break the Jamanda Pandas side came back onto the court having made some positional changes that proved its worth when the girls won that second quarter 10 goals to 4.
Emily Hauville fed the circle to perfection and Kayla Innes and Erin Kenny worked the circle well to create many shooting opportunities for their team.
Some good defensive work by Jayme Muscat and Maddy Parsons also helped the team to snatch this victorious quarter.
At half time positional changes were made again for a fair and even game for all the players.
This saw an outcome similar to the first quarter where the Mudgee Bearings team fought back to win the quarter.
The defence by Abbie Farthing and Bec Spinner was tight and demanding, whilst the shooting skills of Amber Thompson and Kristen Robison were consistent throughout.
In the fourth quarter Jamanda Pandas Kayla Innes went down with an injury causing concern for this team in the shooting circle.
Mudgee Bearings remained consistent throughout the game, thus reflecting the final score where Mudgee Bearings came out victorious for the game 30-20.
The Mudgee Bearings team is basically made up of girls from the 12 years Rep Team and are proving to be the team to beat for Division 6.
This is a good team to keep an eye on for the future.
Due to State Age Rep Carnival and School Holidays there will be no Netball played until July 26. Also due to these reasons there will be no General Meeting held in July, so the next Meeting to be held will be in August where all positions will be declared open for the 2009 season.
An outline of all Committee positions duties is available from the website for anyone thinking of being involved on the netball committee, and uncertain of what role they feel they could take on.
Alternatively you could contact any of the existing committee members and ask any questions you may have.
With over 600 registered members and one of Mudgee’s largest sporting groups it is critical to have a good committee that are committed to working to keeping netball a thriving sport in this community.
This also allows us to have a large choice of people that could be involved, however this is not the case when so many of these members are content in staying in the background and letting a few do all the work.
This is your chance to have a go and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Everyone is welcomed to attend this next meeting.
It is compulsory for each Club to have present at least one financial representative at this meeting or points will be deducted from all teams within that club.
This could prove to be crucial so close to the Semi Finals.
