Lithgow greyhound trainer Terry Northey looks to hold the key to the final of the Brian Cleaver Bookmakers Fifth Grade final over 311 metres at Mudgee greyhound track on Sunday.
Northey has the two fastest qualifiers in Karloo Shacoby (17.84 seconds) and Shacoby Lee (17.77 secs.) but the barrier draw did them no favours when they drew in boxes and two and three respectively.
On times there is little between the five heat winners with Sryro third fastest at 17.92 seconds and Lauries Mate fourth fastest on 17.95 seconds.
Fifth fastest heat winner Ashlin Rose was not far off the mark stopping the clock at 18.02 seconds.
The only local hope in the eight dog field is the Robert Milne trained Kayla Enlim whose 1.25 len second to Laurie’s Mate earned the brindle bitch her place in the field.
The $1000 to the winner feature is set down to start at 1.20pm.
