Three Rugby League teams from All Hallows Gulgong travelled to Portland recently to compete in the Russell Richardson Cup and the David Peachey Shield.
All Hallows competed against schools from Portland, Lithgow, Kandos, Wallerawang and Oberon. All three teams displayed excellent sportsmanship throughout the day and represented their school with pride.
Many of the students who competed in the competition do not usually play rugby league so it was great to see them having a go.
It was evident to see all the effort children had put into their training during lunch times had paid off.
The years 3 and 4 team had one win, one loss and one draw.
The years 5 and 6 non-competitive team played well and the years 5 and 6 competitive team made it through to the finals in Dubbo next term.
Beau Rogers gave up his time to train the teams and Mr Hensley, Mr McWhirter and Suzi Kinsela helped at the carnival.
