On Monday, July 22, Mudgee parents Matt and Cassi Barton welcomed their own royalty to the world.
Although there was no easel or awaiting crowd outside Mudgee Hospital, the local couple was proud to announce the birth of their daughter and first child, Imogen Margaret Barton.
Imogen, weighing eight pounds and 14 ounces (4.03kg), was born at 3.08 pm Australian time.
The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a boy weighing eight pounds and six ounces (3.80kg) at 4.24pm English time on Monday.
Cassi said in her eyes “Imogen was every bit the royalist”.
“Everybody was telling me I was due around the same time as Kate,” Cassi said.
“We were wondering if I would give birth at the same time but it appears I was a bit early.
“It will be cool to see her grow up and see the prince at the same age.”
Imogen was born 53 centimetres in length and is also the first grandchild to Rob and Michele Barton and Margi and Brett Martin.
