A novelist, journalist and television presenter, Tara has written nine books which have been published in 18 countries.
At the Blue Wren lunch, she spoke about the lengths to which she has gone to research her books, and her work as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and Patron for the Baby Friendly Health Initiative.
Tara, who recently returned to modelling at 40 years of age, also spoke about her difficulty in behind accepted as a novelist.
She was even pressured into taking a lie detector test to kill rumours that she was using a ghost writer. She passed.
Tara lives in the Blue Mountains with her husband, author Berndt Sellheim, who was also a guest at the festival, and her young daughter.
The Long Lunch was the final event in the weekend’s Readers’ Festival, which drew hundreds of book lovers to Parklands Resort.
