At the Robert Oatley Vineyard on Saturday, March 8, 2014, Hunters & Collectors will headline in a line-up which also includes Diesel, Something for Kate and British India.
Hunters & Collectors are best known for their anthemic “Holy Grail”, and “Throw Your Arms Around Me”, which was named one of the 30 Australian songs of all time by the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA).
Other hits include “Do You See What I See”, “Talking to a Stranger” and “When The River Runs Dry”.
The national tour is a return to the powerful live performances that have made Hunters & Collectors one of Australia’s classic rock bands.
“The reputation of the band – its iconic status, so to speak – was built up over constant touring, just this relentless approach to getting out there and playing for years and years and years,” lead singer Mark Seymour said.
“It was very much about being in a pub and having thousands of people jammed into a room, with this big, incredible sound. There was unity, there was pride and a total lack of bullshit.”
The national tour, which will kick off on the Australia Day long weekend, will also include Sydney’s Enmore Theatre and Melbourne’s Palais Theatre.
Promoter Roundhouse Entertainment decided to present the second A Day On The Green concert in Mudgee for only the third time in the event’s 12 year history.
The tour coincides with the release of a Hunters & Collectors tribute album, “Crucible: The Songs of Hunters & Collectors”, featuring 15 tributes from the likes of Living End, Neil Finn, Birds of Toyko and Paul Kelly.
Sharing the stage with Hunters & Collectors at Robert Oatley Vineyards will be Diesel, Something for Kate, and Big Day Out favourites British India.
Tickets for the March 8 A Day On The Green, go on sale on Friday, October 11, from Mudgee Bookcase (6372 3127), Mudgee Visitors Centre and ticketmaster.com.au & 136 100.
