Mudgee’s The Property Shop is hosting its annual “Tradies Night” and is attempting to go one better than the $24,000 raised for the Mudgee Rescue Squad and the Hospital’s maternity ward in 2012.
The auction night is seen as a way to thank the region’s trade and property services for their hard work in helping build the community.
The Property Shop’s Andrew Palmer and Damian Kearns, who are both organising the event, said on Tuesday they hoped to see a big turnout from the local tradesmen and women.
“This is an annual event that is always well supported by local businesses and wineries who kindly donate various prizes,” Kearns said.
“It’s an opportunity for the trades and property services sector to give back to the community they serve.”
Among numerous items going under the hammer tomorrow will be a limited edition Boxing Kangaroo flag signed by Bob Hawke, John Bertrand and Alan Bond. The trio was involved with Australia’s 1983 Amercia’s Cup yachting victory. The signed flag is one of three in existence.
Other items include a Brad Haddin signed NSW Sheffield Shield cricket shirt and a signed piece of U2 memorabilia among other music memorabilia items.
