A MAN is facing a raft of charges after a teenager fell from the boot of the car he was allegedly driving near Mudgee on Australia Day.

Police allege a 19-year-old man drove a Toyota Camry along Ridge Road about 11pm on Australia Day, with a friend sitting on the boot.
While the car was moving, the 18-year-old man fell off the boot and hit his head on the roadway.
He was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and remains in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.
Investigators were notified of the incident four days later and began inquiries.
On Saturday, officers announced they charged the driver with a number of traffic offences including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, drive recklessly, and drive while under the influence.
The man is scheduled to appear in Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday, April 9. His licence was also suspended and his vehicle seized for examination.
