"We wanted to place sculptures in the context of a rural community," Virginia Handmer of Rylstone Sculptures Incorporated said.
"The show has always been happy to partner with us and it's a great way to interact with the community because everyone in the sea comes to the show," she said.
The aim of Sculptures on the Hill is to get the local community talking about the possibility of finding and installing permanent, site-specific sculptures around the environs of Rylstone and Kandos.
"Overwhelming over the years we had a lot of positive feedback about the idea from locals and visitors which is really encouraging for the future of the project," Ms Handmer said.
There were 11 sculptures from various artists at the show on Saturday, with anyone walking through the exhibit encourage to stay a little longer and pick their favourite piece for a people's choice award.
New Kandos resident Margot Palk, who was invited to open the exhibition, spoke about the cultural activities around the Kandos Rylstone region that had drawn her to move to the area in the first place and why she was behind the idea of a permanent sculpture exhibit.
"So many people in the community are actively involved in the arts in the region," she said.
"What stands out is the vibrancy and the talent of the local arts community. The long term goal to install permanent sculptures will create a very exciting and unique draw for the region. This collection will very much enrich the culture and character of the Rylstone region," she said.
Art Cycle, who lead artists and art lovers on bike tours of sculptures and art exhibits around New South Wales, was looking forward to the possibility of the Rylstone sculpture project.
"The area is just an amazing place to bring people on a bike tour. Kandos already has Cementa which brings so many people to town but this event would bring so many people to the region as taking a bike tour is the ideal way to incorporate art appreciation with physical activity," Gilbert Grace from Art Cycle said.
