For more than a decade A Day on the Green concerts have wowed Mudgee audiences and tomorrow’s performance will be no exception.

Robert Oatley Vineyards cellar door manager, Amanda Lyons, said the group was pleased to once again play host to Roundhouse Entertainment’s A Day on the Green.

“Despite the very hot and dry summer the heavens have sent us some rain of late so our cricket ground is beautifully green as usual. It’s bound to be an excellent event once again and it’s always great to host so many locals and visitors to town,” she said.

A Day on the Green promoter Michael Newton said on Wednesday that all artists are geared up for the occasion, especially coming off six shows, the most recent at Petersons Winery at Armidale last weekend.

“The Hunnas are without doubt one of our truly great live bands and that’s what you see at the shows,” Mr Newton said.

“They have just been fantastic. There are massive crowd sing-a-longs for  Throw Your Arms around Me,  When the River Runs Dry and all those ‘anthemic’ Hunters songs.”

The promoter said Hunters & Collectors have said they will never play again.

“So this is it. I urge everyone not to miss it,” he said.

As of yesterday tickets were still available to the Mudgee concert, the second A Day on the Green at Robert Oatley Vineyards in the space of five months.

Mr Newton said the second Mudgee concert was also a reward for the support locals and visitors have shown the event among its 12 year history in the town. 

Tomorrow’s A Day on the Green event will again feature another display of Australian rock music with the Hunters & Collecters, Something For Kate, Diesel and British India all performing.

Mr Newton said reviews for the tour to date have been outstanding from both media and fans alike.

He said Hunters & Collectors, made up of Mark Seymour, Jack Howard, Michael Waters, Jeremy Smith, Doug Falconer, Barry Palmer, John Archer and Rob Miles, have been delivering all their classic hits in powerhouse two–hour sets accompanied by a stunning visual show.  

Gates open at 3.30pm and British India start at 4.15pm. Diesel starts at 5.20pm; Something for Kate at 6.30pm and Hunters & Collectors at 7.45pm.

Promoters encourage patrons to enjoy a hassle-free day and leave the car at home.  Ogden’s Coaches operating services from all surrounding regions and the usual shuttle buses from various Mudgee accommodation venues and the CBD to the winery, returning after the show.

General Admission and Reserved Seated tickets are still available at the gate or from Mudgee Region Tourism office in Market Street.
