For Peter Wakeling of Galambine Stud, 2014 marked the first time he had shown his cattle at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in eight years. It was also the first time he had exhibited Galloway cattle at the show - not that it mattered as Mr Wakeling walked away with not one, but three ribbons in the Galloway Cattle category.

“It’s the first time I’ve exhibited Galloway cattle so I was very pleased to come away with the ribbons that I did,” Mr Wakeling said.
“There were some great numbers in the categories and some great cattle on show. One of our heifer’s came first in her category while another came fourth out or nine cattle,” he said.
Mr Wakeling was awarded Senior Champion Galloway Female, Grand Champion Galloway Female and Best Galloway Exhibit of the Royal Easter Show, something that he was extremely happy about.
Besides the ribbons, Mr Wakeling said that one of the highlights of the show was watching his nine year old granddaughter Sophie lead one of the cattle out into the arena.
“It was just really, really pleasing to watch the smile on her face as she exhibited the cow,” he said.
