The accident occurred at about 12.53pm last Thursday (June 19, 2014) on the Ulan Road at Cooks Gap, about 1km south of the intersection with Ridge Road.
The vehicle was travelling towards Mudgee when the driver lost control while negotiating a slight right-hand bend.
It crossed onto the incorrect side of the road then driven up onto a cutting by the side of the road before returning to the road shoulder and rolling an unknown number of times.
During which time the driver, a Mudgee man, was ejected from the vehicle.
He sustained head and leg injuries in the accident and was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
As of Friday afternoon his condition was critical but stable.
