In that first leg Ken, accompanied by wife Joyce for this part of the trip, travelled around 10,000km and went as far north as Karumba in Queensland, in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
Which is around 350 hours driving time in the tractor, which will do 32km/h flat out.
They’ve also raised around $16,000 for Careflight, Kid’s Cancer Project, Westpac Helicopter, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
They’ve been directing people to donate online to The David Morris Liver Cancer Research Fund as well.
Along the way the Tuckeys had seen a variety of Australian wildlife - Ken had one close encounter with a crocodile – and plenty of scenery.
However it wasn’t until getting into Mudgee on Friday that they’d seen heavy rain.
Ken once again said that the people they’ve come across on the journey have been friendly and generous when it comes to donating or helping out when they can.
“Overall the people have been A1, everyone has been really helpful and you couldn’t get any better than the police,” he said.
“We’d like to say a special thanks to them all.”
After a break Ken will set off on the second leg of the trip in September, heading to The Rock in the Riverina region of southern NSW and continuing down into Victoria.
Joyce won’t be coming along on this leg of the journey is Ken is currently seeking a crew of one or two more people to join him on the next adventure.
