On Wednesday Club Mudgee, in conjunction with Scott Etherington of MudgeeMac.com, will be hosting an “Understanding your iPad and iPhone day”.
The day runs from 10am to 5pm and will cover all the basics of Apple products.
Mr Etherington said “heavy stuff” is covered in the morning sessions before “fun stuff” becomes an emphasis in the afternoon.
“With these types of training days people can often feel like their eyes are popping out of their head by the end with so much information to take in,” he said.
“The sessions become shorter as we go and by the time we get to the fun stuff, like playing with photos and maps, we are repeating steps covered about half-a-dozen times already.”
The day class includes learning about switches and buttons, screen configuration, making and receiving calls, using features such as auto-correct, and backing up information among other tips and tricks.
“I’ve had 80-year-olds come to the day classes and they have enjoyed the whole day,” Mr Etherington said.
“If your parents are giving you grief about their iPhone or iPad, send them along.”
He said the class caters for all ages but best suits baby boomers and above.
The classes, which used to run out of Mr Etherington’s offices in Town Hall Arcade, are being taken to clubs as an opportunity to reach wider audiences.
Mr Etherington recently ran instructional days in clubs on Sydney’s northern beaches.
The first 15 spots for Wednesday’s class are free. Alternatively it will be $59 for Club Mudgee members and $99 for other guests. Paid tickets will receive a $10 meal voucher.
