Stepping away from the guitars, Shardyn, Tayzin and Makrium Fahey-Leigh brought one of The King's best loved ballads to life for Australia during Legends Week. With nerves settling in just before the show at the thought of performing Elvis, the local trio managed to push their worries aside and belted out the Elvis classic to close the show.
“You guys are quality. I loved the tone, I loved everything about it and you're definitely my favourite group in the competition,” judge Redfoo said.
My rays of sunshine. You guys manage to cross over all these different type of people and make them like your kind of music.
- Danni Minogue
Their performance meant another standing ovation from the judges, Groups coach Danni Minogue taking it one step further and jumping from her seat squealing once the music had finished to show her delight.
“My rays of sunshine. You guys manage to cross over all these different type of people and make them like your kind of music,” she said.
The only criticism from any of the judges came from Natalie Bassingthwaite when she picked up on the boys' nerves, telling them to put faith in their voices and not draw the microphone away when things did get too much.
“Just believe in yourself a little more,” she said.
The judges' comments about Brothers3 being “brilliant' must have translated through to those watching at home, with Shardyn, Tayzin and Makirum finding out their fate early in the show.
The contestants rounded out Monday night's show with a performance alongside 90s boy band Hanson (of MMMBop fame).
Catch Brothers3 on Sunday night at 6.30pm as they take on the theme Decades, joining the rest of the Top 11 in performing songs from George Michael, Sia and Australia Crawl.
