But IC COOL on a good day are hard to over come.
The attack and defence of both teams was similar with equal efforts put in by both sides. From a spectator’s point of view it was always going to be an exciting game to watch.
Mark Bennie for IC COOL was the first to break through the MVJ backline and reach the back of the net.
The backline of Brian Jeffrey, Lachie Lawler, and Olivia Harvey for MVJ then held fast until half time, the score remaining 1-0 to IC COOL.
The second half saw Tim Marchant working with Troy Whittington and Dave Harvey work together to try and breach the back line of IC COOL but Lisa and Ian Cottee worked with Matt Stanley and Vanessa Johnson to hold fast.
At the other end Cory Pilley worked with the forwards to slot two past the goalie for MVJ. The final score was 3-0 to IC COOL.
Best and fairest for IC COOL was Matt Stanley 3, Mark Bennie 2, and Cory Pilley 1. Best and fairest for Macquarie Valley Juice was Brian Jeffery 3, Troy Whittington 2, and Ellen Day 1.
The second game saw Andrews Transport play Travel & Cruise.
T&C on paper were the stronger team and it appeared a whitewash would be the order of the day but Andrews Transport had other ideas.
Andrews Transport held strong with their defence as Troy and Andrew Kenny worked hard with Chris Kerr and Bob Nemeth to keep T&C at bay.
It was Bec Box for T&C who managed to come in on the right side of goalie Nemeth and get a goal in the corner, this was to be the only goal of the first half, even with attack at either goalie.
The second half saw a strong game with neither team making headway until late in the half. Troy Kenny again worked with his brother Andrew and Chris Kerr to take the ball forward and breach the T&C goal bringing the score to 1-1.
Best and fairest for Andrews Transport was Chris Kerr 3, Amy Young 2, and Deb Kerr 1. Best and fairest for Travel & Cruise were Mark Collins 3, Kristel Barnes 2 and Bec Box 1.
