Clinical manager Gwen Cleeve said the community day was a chance to let the public see recent changes at Opal Mudgee (formerly Principal Mudgee).
Opal Mudgee is licensed to provide high care services for up to 48 residents.
A recent addition to the home is a palliative care room where families can stay with loved ones in their last days.
Residents enjoy a range of activities including exercise sessions, gardening, church services, games, and outings, and “Gumnut Café” where residents can order from a menu as they would at a restaurant.
