On Saturday, September 27, Mudgee Underground will challenge photographers to take the best photo they can of each of the four subjects on the treasure hunt list within a chosen period of time.
The treasure hunt was held for the first time last September, coinciding with the annual Flavours of Mudgee street festival, and sent photographers out in search of an image to represent each of the five senses.
This year’s theme will only be revealed when participants arrive with their cameras, phones or tablets on Saturday morning.
The treasure hunt will start at 10am at The Stables on Markets Street and photographers must have each of their photos taken and returned by email or by returning to the Stables by 1pm.
The photos will be printed and hung in an exhibition opening at 7pm on Saturday night, where prizes will be presented to the best photo in each category and the best collection. Family, friends and photography fans at the exhibition opening will be asked to decide on a people’s choice winner as well.
Mudgee Underground organisers are excited about seeing a variety of approaches to the challenge from young and old photographers.
“A group of teenagers or a family might want to take an iPhone out to snap the set, or an experienced photographer might like to treat it as a challenge to keep them thinking on their feet,” Ms Hooper said.
