Now in its third year, Flavours of Mudgee was launched by Mid-Western Regional Council in 2012 as a Mudgee Wine & Food Festival event.
As well as bringing together wine and food producers in a showcase of Mid-Western Regional produce, the event has succeeded in bringing some festive spirit into the town during the festival - something that had been lacking during recent years.
It has helped wineries and restaurants from outside the town to introduce themselves to potential new customers, Flavours of Mudgee visitors to discover new tastes and products and CBD businesses to join in the spirit of the Wine & Food Festival.
Musicians and street performers add to the festival atmosphere and there is scope to expand this aspect of the festival as it continues to grow.
The large crowd who attended this year’s Flavours of Mudgee shows that the event appeals to a wide range of people, drawing good support from local residents as well as visitors. Flavours of Mudgee not only allows the region to show off to our visitors but also gives local residents a chance to discover what their backyard has to offer and celebrate their town in the company of friends and neighbours.
Hopefully, it will also inspire locals who have not done so to explore what is on offer outside the town boundaries and encourage visitors to come back again.
