I was delighted to discover not only is the region a wonderful place to visit (a fact I was already very well aware of) but the people who call it home exude passion and enthusiasm for everything it has to offer.
Clearly, it is the people that make the place.
Experiencing first hand a showcase of what the area represents at Flavours of Mudgee was a fitting end to my first week.
I had the delightful opportunity to pop in to (almost all, and apologies to those I missed) stallholders at the event on Saturday to say hello and admire their top notch produce.
Enjoyment levels were palpable - from local businesses and festival goers alike. I am excited about our next steps here at MRTI, as the region’s tourism marketing arm, and am eager to influence an increase in visitation through a number of new and refreshed initiatives.
The team and I will be working hard to ensure Mudgee region is known as the place to visit to refresh ones senses. I am truly delighted to be here and look forward to a collaborative approach in ensuring we are a ‘must do’ on everyone’s bucket list.
