Brothers 3 had some difficulty in performing Australia punk band, 5 Seconds of Summer’s current chart topping hit, Amnesia.
The judges were not as impressed with the trio’s performance as they have been with past performances.
Ronan Keating, who has been the brothers’ biggest advocate during the series, admitted their showing wasn’t as good as it could have been on Sunday night.
“You didn’t make me smile. You didn’t make me feel good,” he said.
“This song, even though it’s an angsty, it’s a hard, tough song, it still lifts you. And you didn’t do that with this performance. And I know you guys know that.”
Even the brothers’ mentor, Danni Minogue, wasn’t quite as impressed as she has been since the moment Brothers 3 were announced as the wildcard entry into the competition.
“I hate to say it, but I kinda agree with Ronan. These guys are rays of sunshine. It really didn’t fire as it should have,” she said.
Brothers 3 received a lot of attention on social media during and after their performance – but probably not the kind they were hoping for. 5 Seconds of Summer fans took to Twitter to vent their frustrations that the brothers had referred to 5SOS as a “boy band”.
Hopefully, Brothers 3 can turn their performance around during on Sunday when they take to the stage twice in a night of double performances, performing a Killer Track and a Curve Ball.
The contestants will be challenged by songs from performers including Roy Orbison, Katy Perry, Judy Garland, Rihanna, and Justice Crew.
Catch Brothers 3 at 6.30pm on Sunday on Prime.
