The choir will be inviting passers-by to join them in simple singing and rhythm exercises at the market.
Choir director Mary Mitchell said many people who would like to sing were discouraged because they think they “can’t sing”.
But she said all it takes to be part of the Cudgegong Choir is the courage to take the first step to join.
Cudgegong Choir is a community choir open to all with an interest in singing.
The group practises in the St John’s Anglican Church hall every Thursday at 5pm except school holidays.
If you are interested in becoming part of the Cudgegong Choir, or just want to see if you will enjoy singing with a group, look for the singers at Saturday’s market.
The choir is currently rehearsing for a performance of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, November 1, at the Prince of Wales Opera House in Gulgong.
Around 100 singers, including the Willoughby singers and Bathurst’s Allegri Singers will be accompanied by the Bathurst Chamber Orchestra conducted by choral conductor, William Moxley.
Tickets are $25 for adults and $5 for children, available at the door.
