Andrew Palmer of The Property Shop said he was very happy with the result of the Tradies Night, which has become a tradition in recent years.
He thanked the businesses who donated items and the tradies who supported the evening.
“This is a community that continues to give to help those who aren’t doing as well as some others and also to support causes like the Mudgee Hospital,” he said.
“The PCYC is a fantastic and sometimes sadly overlooked organisation in the community when it comes to fundraising.
“They need a new roof and we’d like to help them to get a new roof as soon as possible.
“The community needs it, the club needs it and I hope the community will get behind it.”
Mr Palmer said The Property Shop was a regular supporter of the Mudgee Hospital Auxiliary through Tradies’ Night.
An auction of items donated by local businesses, ranging from a body and facelift to a signed Test cricket bat drew brisk bidding from the crowd.
With Christmas parties in mind, popular items included a race package for eight at the Mudgee Cup Race meeting in December, knocked down for $1100, and a party pack including a keg of beer, spit hire and half lamb, which went for $1200.
James Hickey and a friend will be watching the Australia v South Africa International Cricket game at the Sydney Cricket Cricket Ground on November 23, from the Channel 9 box, thanks to determined bidding by James.
James paid $4700 for the two tickets, which come with food and drink and the chance to meet the Channel 9 commentators. The package was donated by Ken Sutcliffe.
