Justin Gossage and Beck Lang play for Wests and Wallsend respectively in the competition.
Gossage will take part in the mixed open grand final and Lang will line-up for the Wolves in the women’s division one decider on Saturday.
The Vawdon Cup is NSW Touch’s premier weekly touch football competition.
It is played on Friday nights – and some instances on Sunday – from early August until November across various venues in Sydney.
Saturday is the culmination of months of training for most sides, and in Gossage and Lang’s case, hours of long travel from Mudgee to Sydney each week.
Gossage has played for Wests in the Vawdon Cup for several years.
The Magpies will be looking to win their first crown since 2009 – the same year they went on to win the State Cup a few weeks later.
Wests finished second on the table at the end of the 12 rounds but were the first team to qualify for the grand final.
They defeated minor premiers Easts Roosters 7-5 in the major semi-final a fortnight ago.
The Magpies play the same team tomorrow and will be confident of a victory especially with the likes of former Australia mixed opens player Rohit Prasad leading them around the park.
Wallsend had to come through the back door to make the decider.
They finished third on the table but because it was a top six finals series, Wallsend had to play sudden death from the first week of the semis.
They defeated Penrith 6-5 then the Wolves upstaged Easts 5-4 last Friday to book a place in the grand final against Manly.
Lang, who played three Tests for Australia in the girls’ under 18s in 2004, injured her calf last week at the Country Championships in Wollongong.
But she is expected to play on Saturday.
Gossage and Lang’s finals are both on at 2.50pm.
In the men’s open premier league grand final, Wollongong take on Penrith, and Manly play Canterbury in the women’s open premier league decider.
