Leonie Costello put up the Christmas display at her Mortimer Street home around two weeks ago.
But on Friday morning, she found that the power cords to the lights had been cut, solar panels had been broken and Santa lanterns, candy canes and reindeers shattered.
Ms Costello said she had heard young people’s voices at around 1am in the morning.
As well as the cost of replacing the decorations, Ms Costello is disappointed that her efforts to add festive spirit to her neighbourhood have been destroyed.
She wants to warn others that vandals lacking in Christmas spirit are at work and might attack other displays.
“I’m hopeful that people will keep an eye out and that the vandals will get caught,” she said.
People with any knowledge of in the crime are encouraged to contact Mudgee Police.
