Alice Fergusson, Ada Lunney, Sophie Suttor, Evie Yule and Natalie Standen will be part of the Milo cricketers who play on the SCG during the lunch break of the third day of the fourth Test between Australia and India in the new year.
The SCG Test is always one of the most supported matches of any cricket series in Australia.
But in recent years, the Test, which is sometimes referred to the New Year’s Test, has become one for raising money and awareness.
The Test is affectionately known as the pink Test as it supports the McGrath Foundation.
The third day of the Test match is a special day as it is Jane McGrath Day.
The wife of Test great Glenn McGrath lost her battle to cancer in 2008 and in a tribute to her, the McGrath Foundation declared the third day as Jane McGrath Day.
The iconic Ladies’ Stand changes its name to the Jane McGrath Stand, Channel 9 commentators wear pink suits, and many of the crowd sport pink shirts, hats, pants or zinc.
The five girls will play for approximately 30 minutes during the lunch break of the match at the SCG.
Meanwhile, the last round of Mudgee junior cricket for 2014 was held last weekend.
