Paragon were dismissed for 98 with three of their top four batsmen failing to fire on a good day for batting.
Led by Mitchell Hearn’s 3-20 off 6.2 overs, Woolpack steam-rolled Paragon in the 33rd over before taking their time to chase down the total.
Hearn continued his brilliant day by top scoring for 41 in his team’s total of 2-99.
With a top four that would not look out of place in a rep game, Paragon fell to 2-11 after five overs.
Will Lindsay was dismissed for one and explosive hitter Josh Edwards was out for eight – both by Jacob Edmonds (2-5 off four overs).
Steven Knight and Adam Honeysett got a good long look at the pitch ahead of today’s Australia Day Challenge match.
The pair added 32 runs for the third-wicket in 10 overs.
Knight was on 12 when he became the first of Hearn’s three victims.
Shortly after Nick Chapman spun Honeysett out for 21 and Hearn struck again to remove Andy Laurie.
Jeremy Doherty played-on a Chapman delivery when he was two and Paragon was 6-62.
Steve Haney was not being tied down as he played his shots.
He hit four boundaries and a six in his knock of 29 – Paragon’s top score of the day.
He was caught by John Fitzpatrick trying to hit leg spinner Lance Hearn out of Victoria Park.
The tail didn’t wag and Paragon were quickly dismissed for 98.
There was no question Paragon was going to work Woolpack.
The first 10 overs produced 13 runs as Lindsay and Dave Edwards kept it tight.
Lindsay went on to finish with the economical figures of 0-12 off 10 overs.
Although he didn’t get a wicket, he kept it tight which allowed Knight to get the first wicket.
But Paragon’s joy was short lived as Mitch Hearn and Wade Burrow played sensible knocks.
Mitch would top score and Barrow would contribute with a handy 37 not out.
Troy Kenny made 15 not out in Woolpack Hotel’s eight-wicket victory.
