On Wednesday, April 22, The Zin House will hold an open day to celebrate their first birthday and say thank you to everyone who has made the anniversary possible.
Guests at the event will be able to see how the produce used in Kim Currie’s kitchen is used, explore the kitchen garden, and hear from some of the local and regional producers who contribute on a weekly basis to The Zin House’s menu.
From 2pm to 7pm, guests will be able to find out how the restaurant works and visit the new Farm Shop and taste some of the jams, oils, and jars of goodies that Kim uses in the kitchen.
At 3pm there will be a guided farm tour that will take in the fruit trees, vineyard, compost pile, orchard, and bee hives.
There will be a guided kitchen garden tour at 4pm; yoga demonstration at 4.30pm; and a cooking demonstration at 4.30pm.
Once the sun starts to dip behind the Mudgee mountains, the official opening will take place at 5pm, and guests will be able to meet the producers and ask them any food related question at 5.30pm.
To finish the night off, there will be a star gazing session at 6.30pm.
For the past 12 months, The Zin House has offered weekend long lunches featuring fresh produce from the organic and biodynamic Tinja farm to the general public. Tapas nights have offered guests a five course tasting menu on Friday and Saturday nights, and major events have offered up buffets filled with fresh food.
