Tickets on board the next commercial flight out of Mudgee will be released soon after FlyPelican received approval from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) this week.

The airline made the announcement via its Facebook page earlier on Tuesday.
“We would like to proudly announce that we have today received our CASA RPT Air Operators Certificate,” the statement said.
“After six months of hard work we would like to thank our hard working dedicated staff and their families for their great work and support.
“We would also like to thank CASA for their professionalism and support throughout this process. “Please stay tuned for a press release later this week announcing the start date of our services and when ticket sales will be available. We look forward to seeing you all onboard soon!![sic].”
Mid-Western Regional Council unanimously voted to provide more than half a million dollars for the return of a regular air service to the region earlier this year.
Fly Pelican will receive $677,400 between 2014 and 2017 including $195,000 over the first three months for licensing fees and $15,000 every month for the first 12 months.
