Principal Alan Kerr said, “Education Week Open Day is a great way for parents and community members to visit our school and see some of the wonderful work that is occurring”.
“Parents were invited to visit classrooms from 10.30am on Thursday and then attend a special concert at 11.45am that showcased many of the performers from the recent Gulgong Eisteddfod,” Mr Kerr said.
“Infants, Junior and Senior Choirs performed along with the Junior and Senior Dance Troupes.
“Verse Speaking from Kindergarten and Year 5/6 was also a highlight and the School Concert Band again showed their quality with two impressive numbers.
“Many faces of students lit up when they recognised someone from their family in the audience.
“It was very pleasing to see so many parents, grandparents and community members attend our Open Day and see so many appreciative students last Thursday.”
On Wednesday the school also hosted a visit by the Musica Viva group ‘The World According to James’, a jazz presentation that had students playing along by the end of each session.
Cudgegong Valley Public School will be combining their Education Week events with Book Week this month.
