In association with the Merrigong Theatre Company and Richard Jordan Productions, the MPAS will bring Bob Kingdom’s one man show Dylan Thomas: Return Journey to the Mudgee Town Hall Theatre on Tuesday, August 18.
With original direction by Sir Anthony Hopkins, Return Journey is a re-creation of the last tour by Dylan Thomas, the legendary Welsh poet.
Thomas toured across Wales and America, performing his poetry and prose in large venues and community halls in cities, towns and villages until he died at the age of 39 in 1953.
Thomas was noted for his original, rhythmic use of words and imagery. He was also well known for his lifestyle and reputation as a “doomed poet”.
According to reports from the time, Thomas’ tours blended poetry and prose in spell binding tales of the road, with beauty, humour, passion and wit.
This one-off performance of the one man show, Dylan Thomas: Return Journey, will give locals the chance to experience the magical world of the acclaimed poet, as delivered by the man himself.
Bookings for the show can be made at www.trybooking.com/INDP
Tickets are $35 for adults, and $30 for concession card holders and Mudgee Performing Arts Society members. Student tickets will go for $25 and a family of four will be able to laugh and cry at Thomas’ work for $100.
Dylan Thomas: Return Journey will be performed on Tuesday, August 18 at 7.30pm at the Mudgee Town Hall Theatre.
