Amanda Edwards, Brydie Knihinicki, Tameka Blowes, Amy Baguley, Olivia Slevin, Dominic Ghanem, Kaitlin Smith, Anneliese Woods-Smith, Edward Rava, Jason Dickinson, Jade Faucett-Kay, Jarrod Gould, Grace Hensley, and Kirralaa Williams put their best foot forward during the showcase, setting up stalls that highlighted their achievements and speaking to guests about their Max Potential journeys.
Future Achievement Australia CEO – and Max Potential creator – Wayne Deeth said the showcase was a great way for the Mid-Western region to see a return on the investment the coaches, sponsors, parents and community members have put into the Max Potential program over the past 22 weeks.
“When you think about the time that the coaches have spent with their young adults, it adds up to hundreds of hours of investment in young people in the local community,” Mr Deeth said.
Changing things up a little this year – or realigning rigorously at the MAXIMISERS would put it – the showcase took place at Club Mudgee on Thursday night rather than Thursday afternoon as a way of encouraging more people to come along to the event after work.
Mudgee Max Potential coordinator Fiona Brown said she had loved watching the young adults grow during this year’s program and credited them for allowing her to grow each and every year
“Every year I’m able to work with a great group of coaches and some amazing young adults. Every time I take part in Max Potential – and I’ve been doing it for nine years now – I get better at what I do because I get to work with people like you,” she said.
As well as celebrating the achievements of the past 22 weeks, the Max Potential Showcase was also used to celebrate another milestone – 10 years of Max Potential as a program.
With a cake and a very loud rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’, Mr Deeth said he hoped the Max Potential program would continue to inspire and motivate young people in the Mid-Western region for the next ten years as well.
