Local young women are invited to come along to the Uniting Church Hall in Mudgee between 4.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday and celebrate Free Being Me with current Girl Guides and their leader.
Girl Guides Australia is one of the largest organisations in Australia for girls and young women.
It provides leadership and personal skills development to its 30,000 members, including 22,000 youth members.
Girl Guides provides a non-formal educational program that is dynamic and flexible while offering values based training in life skills, decision making and leadership.
Girl Guides’ mission is to enable girls and young women to grow into confident, self-respecting, responsible community members.
The Free Being Me Program empowers girls through improving body confidence and self esteem.

- More than 10 per cent of girls stop doing something they love because they feel bad about how they look.
- 19 per cent won’t try out for a team or a club.
- 23 per cent won’t go to the beach or swimming pool.
