Hale earned first place with a score of 141 in the 36-hole scratch event, beating home the next best of the local players Josh Campbell who was the runner-up with 145.
Hale went two places better than last year’s tournament when he finished in a four-way tie for third spot, which also happened to include Campbell.
Hale recently moved to Mudgee meaning the trophy returns to the local area after heading to Camden last year with Darren Cummins.
Brad Paine added to the local achievements in 2015 after he was victorious in the A-grade handicap with a score of 140.
In the B-grade, the Westpac Cup 36-hole scratch event was won by Steven Moore with a score of 167, ahead of Mark Bennie on 170.
While in the 36-hole handicap Warren Lowe was triumphant.
There were 216 players in action on Saturday and Sunday, following about 140 contesting Friday’s events.
And it was a strong field as well which included around 110 players with a handicap less than 10.
Friday’s action included the Mueller Cup 4BBB, Crossing Cup, and Allen Meers Memorial Cup.
The scratch event was won by Brodie Wells and Mark Hale with 40 points, as the latter began to warm to the task ahead of Saturday and Sunday.
The handicap event for the day, the Mueller Cup, was won by Stephen York and Michael Shirlow with 48 points.
The Allen Meers Memorial Cup was won by Roy Hofmeier and Ian Rhodes.
