Traditionally held during the second week of the September-October school holidays, the day was a showcase of healthy activities and fun lifestyle choices for families.
This year’s highlights included a return of the teddy bears, where children were able to give them a health check and take them around the venues, motor trike adventures – a very popular ride around the oval, football, cricket, gardening and face painting.
Healthy food was the central theme this year and Rebecca Sutton from olive.a.twist gave some impressive demonstrations on how to prepare delicious food using simple, healthy ingredients that not only look and taste good, but are very easy to prepare.
The Benevolent Society played a big part in this year’s activities providing healthy eating and lots of positive outdoor activities for everyone – especially kids. The Community Charity Shop also provided plenty of support with recipe books to take home.
Organisers were thrilled at the range of activities this year and the huge community support. They thanked everyone for making the day so special.
