The club has already planned a fitness run and a brief skills session followed by a club get together and barbecue at the beginning of December for any any interested players, new or old.
According to Pascoe, plans for the 2016 season have been in the works since the former Dragons coach returned to his home town of Mudgee recently.
“We’re having two Sunday mornings in a row in December just to get the players together and thinking about it - but it won’t be anything too serious,” he said.
“I’m very excited mate, I’ve spoken to nearly all the premier division players and all of them are looking forward to it already, which is exciting in itself that they’re thinking about it in November.
“Just to be back here and coaching the local side again – I’m proud to be able to do it.
“You can go and coach all around Australia but you never get that same feel as you do for your home town.”
Plenty of other sides around the central west have been improving their roster, but as of yet the Dragons are yet to sign any new faces.
However, Pascoe said there may be a couple of new additions to the side before pre-season gets into full swing.
“We’re talking to a couple of guys and are just waiting for an answer, so I’m hoping this time next week we’ll be able to announce something,” he said.
“Everyone but Jack (Afamasaga) and Demetrius (Ainuu) have signed in terms of players from last year – I’m not really sure what they’re doing if I’m being honest.
“We’re focusing on our own but it’s always interesting to see what the other mobs have got too.”
In terms of the way the Dragons will be structured next year, Pascoe said it all depends on the roster which he hasn’t had a chance to have a good look at yet.
One thing is for certain though, discipline is something the new coach will want to improve on in 2016.
“Every coach has got a way they like to play the game but realistically you’ve got to wait and see who you’ve got first – so that’s what I’ll be doing.
“I’ve got a basic structure of how we want to play but there’s no use saying we’re going to play structured football if we have a mob of blokes who like throwing the ball around – we’ll wait and see. If we get everyone that we’re hoping to get I think we’ll see a pretty exciting brand of footy.
“I’m a very disciplined sort of coach so that’s the way I like my players to be – but at the same time when they get the opportunity to use the ball I don’t want to shackle them at all.
“You’ll see a lot more of a disciplined side I think.”
Pre-season training begins with a fitness run for any interested player on December 6, followed by a brief skills session and barbecue the following Sunday, December 13.
