Jeffery Dean Cookson, aged 37, of Woodside Close, Mudgee, has been charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited plant; possessing a prohibited drug; supplying or knowingly taking part in supply of prohibited drug; using or supplying a stolen firearm or firearm part; and supplying a prohibited drug.
Between Sunday, April 10, 2016, and the next day police allegedly located 89 cannabis plants, as well as cannabis leaf and seed and a .22 rifle.
Cookson's legal-aid solicitor, Rebecca Mitchell said that her client wanted bail because his father was terminally ill.
However Magistrate Terry Lucas refused the application unless proof of Cookson’s father’s condition was submitted.
Cookson is next listed to appear in court again on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.
