Established in 1969, the iconic Mudgee winery is celebrated for its annual Chamber Music Festival that brings together the finest musicians from Australia and around the world for a feast of award-winning wine, gourmet food and world-class chamber music in the Barrel Hall and grounds of the winery.
The event is hugely popular and sells out each year.
This year the Opening Weekend at Huntington begins with a Winemaker’s Lunch on Saturday, November 19 followed by the first concert that evening and the second concert on Sunday morning 11am.
Festival artistic director Carl Vine and Musica Viva Australia have assembled a stellar line-up for 2016.
London-based pianist Piers Lane AO will headline the festival joined by Australia’s pre-eminent chamber music ensemble, the Goldner String Quartet, one of the world’s great harpists Alice Giles, ARIA winner and pianist Tamara Anna Cislowska.
Australia’s most exciting young string quartet, the Orava Quartet, will perform a glorious selection of chamber music including Chopin’s Nocturnes and Beethoven’s String Quartet in C-sharp minor Op 131.
Tickets must be booked in advance online at www.huntingtonmusic.com.au or by phoning the winery on 1800 995 931.
