Gulgong Women’s Bowling Club travelled to Forbes to play in the Regional pennant playoffs after winning their district to represent Central Tablelands.

They played against three other district winners, Orange, Parkes and West Dubbo.
The Gulgong team was made up of two sides.
Side 1 was Marcia Rochester, Marilyn Gorrie, Colleen Ross, and Colleen Ryan, Joan Mitchelmore (reserve).
Side 2 was Mary Woolford, Debbie Buckley, Nicole Henry, and Teri Gorrie, Lesley Dixon (reserve).
Along with manager Anne Rothe.
Gulgong won their first game 4-1 against Orange.
In the afternoon they played West Dubbo, drawing 2 1/2 - 2 1/2.
The last game they played was Wednesday morning when they met the Parkes ladies and were successful 5-0.
At the end of the competition Dubbo and Gulgong were on equal points overall 11 1/2 each.
A count back on shots won was the decider, Gulgong winning overall by 11 shots.
This now puts Gulgong into the State Playoffs at Bombaderry in August.
