At the end of the day the Junior Dragons won 5 out of the 7 games played, helping to cement some teams in the finals and keeping other age groups’ finals chances alive.
The Under 10’s Red further cemented themselves as a contender with a solid win over the Blayney Bears, winning 28 points to 18. Under 10’s White continued their unbeaten run, thrashing Lithgow/Portland 56-10 in a very strong showing.
The Under 11s were the shock of the day, getting the win over Bathurst Panthers 28-10 through well-disciplined play and taking opportunities.
The Under 12’s went down to Bathurst 32-4 while the Under 14’s extended their undefeated run with a massive win over Bathurst 54-0.
The Under 15’s Dragons grabbed their first win of the season over St Pats 14-8 with ill- discipline cruelling St Pats chance of victory.
Finally the Under 16s were comprehensively beaten by a strong Orange CYMS side.
The Group 10 Juniors competition only has two weeks to go, with the last home game to be held in Mudgee on August 6 before the finals begin. Mudgee Junior Rugby League will host a Mini’s Carnival in August with players 6 to 9 from around the Central West competing.
