Brandon, a Year 10 student, said he joined the program because it seemed like “a good learning curve”.
“It’s helped me to learn to do paperwork and work in teams,” he said.
As his community service project, Brandon, a keen drummer, chose to primary school students from the school to play the drums.
“I like drums and I think music is pretty good for people,” he said.
Brandon said taking part in Max Potential had helped him to concentrate more on his work in general.
His Max Potential coach, Mark Willis, has been there to help him through the 22-week program.
“It’s fun and a good learning curve,” he said. “The biggest thing I’ve learned is probably about having confidence in yourself and how to get things done.”
At the Max Potential showcase on Wednesday, July 27, Brandon is planning to have a slideshow and play some music on drums and guitar.
