Blayney’s 2016 Group 10 finals hopes go on the line on Sunday at King George Oval, with the Bears hosting Oberon.
As the ladder stands with a handful of games needing results finalised following washed out weekends, Orange CYMS (25 points), Bathurst Panthers (23), Bathurst St Pat’s (21) and Oberon Tigers (21) have all locked up a spot in the Group 10 top five.
Mudgee currently sits in fifth spot with 16 points, one win ahead of the Bears in sixth.
It’s do or die for us this weekend, points wise, we really need to beat Oberon.
- Bears president Adam Hornby
Mudgee takes on the winless Workies at Glen Willow on Sunday and will win big, meaning if the Bears can’t account for Oberon then Blayney’s season, with just two rounds remaining, will virtually be over.
It’s a big weekend for the club, with Sunday’s game being the first at King George Oval in over a month with the ground closed due to consistent rainfall in June and July.
“It’s do or die for us this weekend, points wise, we really need to beat Oberon,” president Adam Hornby said, adding he’s happy King George Oval is finally open.
