In 2011 the Mid-Western Region’s Event of the Year raised thousands of dollars for local community groups and is looking to do the same for Lifeskills this year.
The now annual event will be held at the Mudgee Showground on December 15 and residents can expect an afternoon and evening of entertainment.
Run by the Rotary Club of Mudgee Sunrise and the Combined Churches of Mudgee, the carols will again feature a visit by Santa and performances by local musicians and singers.
Rotary Sunrise president Gary Blogg said plans for the performance were coming along well.
“We are probably a lot more organised this year and there will be plenty of activities and entertainment for everyone,” he said.
“Santa will be making an appearance and I’m pretty sure he’ll be coming in by helicopter.”
Blogg said all money raised will be going to Lifeskills for new equipment.
“There is some specific equipment they need and I understand they are building a sensory room which will need the equipment,” he said.
“If we can raise thousands of dollars towards it then that will be fantastic.”
