Chairman Russell Holden said, “the Visitor Guide is a leading resource to entice visitors to skip town to Mudgee Region and indulge with their loved ones”.
“We are growing positive awareness about our Region and we will continue to do this.
“Key trade stakeholders are now sitting up and taking notice, for example Destination NSW are thrilled with our efforts and are working closely with us with our current ‘Let’s Skip Town Together’ campaign to highlight Mudgee Region as the food and drink destination of choice in NSW.”
Over the past year the team at Mudgee Region Tourism handed out over 4,500 guides at Sydney based events including Balmoral Wine + Food Festival, Vino Paradiso, Sydney Cellar Door and Pyrmont Festival.
Before festival goers pick up a guide the team are commonly asked if the guides are free to take.
Last year Mudgee Region Tourism secured the opportunity to tip onto the back of the October/November 2015 edition of Australian Traveller Magazine, a total of 10,000 Visitor Guides were stuck to the back of the magazine and issued across the state.
The guide was also given an online presence via the new Mudgee Region Tourism mobile responsive website launched in November last year and is currently receiving 13,000 unique visitors a month.
The online flip book version of the guide was brought to life and available for Visitors to download.
Mudgee Region Tourism acting CEO Leianne Murphy said, “it has been a very successful year for the 2015-16 Visitor Guide, 100,000 copies were printed and distributed across the state of NSW, boarder lines of SA, Qld and Victoria, over 50 per cent of guides were distributed before visitors are in Region, we are excited to be launching the new 2016-17 guide.”
This year, the guide has received a little facelift, the cover showcases Mudgee Regions country charm and sophisticated food and drink offering.
Local talent Katie-May Batty, Kylie and Ben Edmunds, Summer Land and Paul Jongsm feature on the cover of 100,000 copies.
The guide will be distributed over the next 12 months among many channels.
Every resident across the Mid-Western Region council will receive a copy of the guide, and are encouraged to leave on the living room coffee table or guest beside table for visiting friends and relatives.
All businesses in Mudgee Region are welcome to come and collect a box of guides from the Visitor Information centre.
