The Town Hall Theatre will host the Clock Award-winning theatre group’s Mudgee Shorts on Friday night (7.30pm), Saturday afternoon (2.30pm) and Saturday evening (7.30pm).
Nine short plays, including three monologue performances, will be followed by a locally-made short film titled Tool to conclude the night.
The eclectic selection of shorts, each around ten minutes long, ranges from the comic to the serious, touching on subjects as diverse as dementia, politics, parenthood and pets.
Mudgee Shorts is a regular part of the Performing Arts Society’s program, and you never know what familiar face will appear on stage.
You might see your next door neighbour as a doddery aristocrat, your old schoolteacher as the Prime Minister of Australia, or your co-worker as a talking dog.
The cast ranges from schoolchildren to retirees, and familiar faces on the Mudgee stage are joined by first time actors and talents new to town.
Judges will award prizes for best script, best performer and best production.
Tickets can be purchased online at www.mpas.org.au and at the door, at $20 each, $15 concession, or $50 for a family of four.
